Margaret T. 'Maggie' Kranbacher
Margaret T. "Maggie" Kranbacher, 91, of Butler passed away Monday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Butler on May 8, 1919, and was the daughter of the late Anthony and Anna Marie DeSantis Cherry.
Maggie was a homemaker and was formerly employed at the shell shop at Pullman Standard during World War II. She also formerly worked at Troutman's department store in Butler.
She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, the 55 and Alive at St. Michael's, the Ladies Guild at St Michael's and the St. Michael Church Choir.
Maggie also was a member of the Lyndora American Legion Auxiliary Post 778, the Democratic Women's Club and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
Surviving are one son, William A. Kranbacher Jr. and his wife, Sandra, of Butler; two daughters, Mrs. Sandra McNees of Butler and Mrs. Darlene Lerch and her husband, Russell, of Virginia; and seven grandchildren, Teresa Johnson of Butler, Christine Kozar and her husband, Robert, of Prospect, William A. Kranbacher and his wife, Deanna, of Butler, Jackie Flatt and her husband, David, of Butler, Eric McNees of Butler, and Danny Lerch and Jenna Lerch of Virginia. Ten great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Kranbacher Sr, who passed away in 1988; one granddaughter, Kendra Lerch; and two brothers, Samuel Cherry and Peter Cherry.
<B>KRANBACHER</B> — Friends of Margaret T. "Maggie" Kranbacher, who died Monday, Aug. 16, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the <B>Martin Funeral Home</B>, 429 Center Ave, Butler. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church with Father James Dolan officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Burial Estates.The Bereavement Group of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church will meet at 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home to conduct a scriptural wake service.Information also is available at www.martinfh.net.
