SR grad Ackerman shines in javelin
Slippery Rock High School graduate MaryAnn Ackerman, a freshman at Oregon State University, recently placed fourth in the discus at the OSU High Performance Invitational.
Her thow was 149 feet, 8 inches. There were 30 throwers in the competition.
Johnston, Brown pick up victories
WASHINGTON, Pa. — Trainer/driver Aaron Johnston of Evans City found victory while driving Cholula during harness racing Wednesday at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.
The 3-year-old filly won a $9,000 Conditioned Trot.
Brady Brown of Slippery Rock drove Livinginthedream to victory in an $8,400 Claiming Handicap Pace. The 8-year-old mare won her second straight race and fourth in the last five starts.
Fab4 racing show back at Lernerville
BUFFALO TWP — Fab4 racing returns to Lernerville Speedway Friday night.
A.J. Flick won the Sprint division’s first feature of the season two weeks ago. Jared Miley won the first Late Model race, Mat Williamson the Modified event and Tyler Dietz the Pro Stock race. Dietz has won the first two Pro Stock races at the Sarver oval this season.
On track activities begin at 6:50 p.m. with racing set to begin at 7:30 p.m.
