Bernard J. 'Slim' Nagle Sr.
Bernard J. "Slim" Nagle Sr., 80, of Butler passed away Tuesday evening at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born in Butler, June 10, 1930, a son of the late John and Florence Graham Nagle.
He was a retired painter, having worked for Lou Hortert Painting Contractor for 25 years.
He was a member of the St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church.
Bernard was a former Cub Scout master for Pack 39 in Summit Township for a number of years and also was a former scout master for Boy Scout Troop 12 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church. He was a former member of the Keystone Squares and a former member of the Pennsylvania National Guard.
He is survived by his wife, Marlene Welter Nagle, to whom he was married for 58 years; five sons, Bernard J. Nagle Jr. and his wife, Cathy, of Dayton, Ohio, Wayne E. Nagle and his wife, Raylene, of Butler, Kenneth A. Nagle and his wife, Charlene, of Zelienople and twin sons, Dale J. Nagle of Apache Junction, Ariz., and Keith W. Nagle and his wife, Susan, of Butler; two brothers, Albert Nagle and his wife, Nancy, of Sarver and James Nagle and his wife, Evelyn, of Butler; 19 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
<B>NAGLE</B> — Friends of Bernard J. "Slim" Nagle Sr., who died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the <B>Martin Funeral Home</B>, 429 Center Ave., Butler. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, Butler, with Father James Salberg, pastor, officiating.
