None injured, but shed lost, on Mother’s Day at Butler Twp. home
BUTLER TWP — Emergency crews responded to a property on South Breezewood Drive around 3 p.m. Sunday where they found a shed engulfed in flame, but the rest of the property was otherwise safe.
“This is not how I wanted to spend Mother’s Day,” said homeowner Beth Warheit, who looked over a her shed, completely charred and leveled.
Warheit’s home sits about 50 yards away and was unaffected by the blaze.
“I’m just glad my son was in the house,” said Warheit, who was examined and cleared by EMS at the scene for smoke inhalation.
Warheit said she mowed her lawn and parked the mower in the shed where it usually is kept. She said when she finished weed-whacking, she saw smoke coming from the shed.
“The tractor was on fire,” Warheit said. “I had a fire extinguisher and grabbed it.”
