Miriam W. Swearingen
Miriam W. "Mim" Swearingen, 85, of Mars died Monday morning at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot.
Born in Mars, Dec. 24, 1920, she was the daughter of Varner and Anna Watt Walters.
She retired after 19 years as a teller at Mars National Bank.
Mrs. Swearingen was a member of the Valencia Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are a brother, Chester Walters (Jean) of Florida; and a sister, Etta Walters Kline of Export. She was the aunt of Mrs. Paul (Lori) Chiplock of Penn Township, Michael Kline of Export, Kenny Walters of Florida and Daine Walters of North Carolina; and great-aunt of Jonathan Chiplock of Penn Township and Ashley Chiplock, of Brooklyn, N.Y.
Her husband, George F. Swearingen, whom she married April 29, 1942, died Sept. 14, 1994. She also was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Adele Walters.

"Mim" Swearingen, who died Monday, July 10, 2006, will be held at 11 a.m. Aug. 5 at the Valencia Presbyterian Church, 80 Sterrett St., Valencia The Rev. Gary Weston will officiate.
