Thelma Duffy Kohler

Thelma Duffy Kohler, 85, of the Butler area passed away peacefully Friday at the Butler Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family. She will always be remembered for her loving ways and her giving spirit that she demonstrated every day of her life

Born in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of Henry A. and Bertha Dunker.

She lived most of her life in Mt. Lebanon and was a member of the Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Mrs. Kohler was a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts. She was an active member and past matron of the Order of the Easter Star. She also was an active member of the Daughters of the Nile.

She retired as a faithful employee of the Girl Scouts Trillium Council in 2004.

She will be dearly missed by her husband of almost two years, Charles L. Kohler; two daughters, Nancy Rubino and her husband, Dennis, of Dover, Del., and Karen Folmar and her husband, Robin, of South Park; six grandchildren, Joelle, Raelene, Christopher and Nicholas Rubino and Tina and Sabrina Folmar; and a great-grandson, Shane Malloy. Also surviving are a sister, Miriam Kelly of Philadelphia; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Francis O. Duffy; her second husband, Herbert Schaeffer, and two brothers, Malcolm and Henry Dunker.

KOHLER — Friends of Thelma Duffy Kohler, who died Friday, March 3, 2006, will be received beginning at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the LAUGHLIN FUNERAL HOME, 222 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon. A prayer service will follow at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Jefferson Memorial Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Girl Scouts Trillium Council 606 Liberty Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15222, to support girls' camperships; to the Order of the Eastern Star, c/o Ann Berger, P.O. Box 60157, Harrisburg, PA 17106; or to the Daughters of the Nile, 1877 Shriners Way, Cheswick, PA 15024.
