Raymond Liposky, 50, of Hermitage died Sunday at his home.

Born in New Castle, July 6, 1955, he was the son of Francis L. and Mary C. Kiddon Liposky.

He started his first career at his family-owned business, Green Meadows Golf Course in Washington Township, Lawrence County, where he became greens superintendent and a shareholder. He developed a second career in the auto repair and restoration industry.

In 1980, he bought the Perry Highway Hotel on Route 19, Springfield Township, and expanded the business until a fire in the early 1980s. The restaurant was sold and later became Rachel's Road House.

During the next decade, he worked in the golf industry throughout the southeastern United States. His skills were used at several TPC and PGA courses, including Sawgrass, Amelia Island Plantation and Augusta.

He returned to Pennsylvania in the early 1990s and once again worked in auto repair and classic car restoration.

Surviving are a brother, Dr. Richard B. Liposky of Cincinnati, Ohio; two sisters, Carol Swiger of Reston, Va., and Patricia Liposky of Sarasota, Fla.; and nieces and nephews, including Lee Ann Bartlett and Robert B. Liposky, both of Volant.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert F. Liposky.

<B>LIPOSKY</B> - Friends of Raymond Liposky, who died Sunday, Oct. 2, 2005, will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Leesburg. Services will follow at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Thomas Gomola, pastor of Leesburg Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be at Crestview Memorial Park, Pine Township, Mercer County.
