Leslie J. 'Les' Hamder

Leslie Joseph "Les" Hamder, 70, of 302 Kaufman Drive died at 4:20 a.m. Saturday after a long illness.

Born in Butler, Oct. 12, 1937, he was the son of John J. and Catherine Izzo Hamder.

He attended Butler High School and retired from Standard Bent Glass as a skilled laborer. He formerly worked at American Hardware in receiving and logistics for 15 years and recently worked in housekeeping at the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Mr. Hamder was a member of the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. He also belonged to the SOI of Butler.

He was a Navy veteran and served during the Lebanon crisis.

Surviving are two siblings, Mrs. Carol AnnMashuda and Richard Hamder, both of Butler; a son; a daughter; three grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Two brothers preceded him in death.

<B>HAMDER </B>— Family visitation for Leslie Joseph "Les" Hamder, who died Saturday, June 7, 2008, will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Harry Bielewicz officiating.
