Ference

Dorothy June Ference, 94, of Bradford Woods, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2022.

Born June 23, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Mabel (Jahns) Schiller.

She was the beloved mother of Dean (Mary), Jill (Dave), Peggy and Paul (the late Laura); dear grandmother of Sarah, Monica, Dan, Joe, Kevin and Greg; and the great-grandmother of seven.

Dorothy was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family was the focus and purpose of her life. She also enjoyed cooking, container gardening, birds and dancing. She made the best potato salad in the world. Her back porch was alive with birds at the feeders and abundant crops of tomatoes grown in containers. She and her partner, Harold, would go dancing frequently, always surrounded by other dancing friends and family. She also co-owned a drag racing car with Paul. We will miss her loving spirit and energy.

FERENCE — Family and friends of Dorothy June Ference, who died Thursday, May 12, 2022, are welcome from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 15, 2022, at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME OF CRANBERRY, 2678 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township.

Funeral services celebrating Dorothy’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Matt Klenk officiating.

Interment will follow at Pinewood Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Dorothy’s name to a charity of the donor’s choice.
