Judge William Shaffer

Judge William Shaffer handed down the following sentence June 11:

Dustin P. Miller, 38, of Slippery Rock, was sentenced to six months of probation, 60 hours of community service and a $300 fine for driving under the influence. Miller was charged April 29, 2019, and pleaded guilty May 6.

In a second case, Miller was sentenced to six months in jail with the first 72 hours in jail and an additional four to 18 months probation for criminal trespass — breaking into a structure, and driving under the influence. Having served four months in jail, Miller was immediately paroled on both counts. He must also pay a $1,000 fine and restitution. Miller was charged Nov. 18, 2018, and pleaded guilty on May 6.
