Jack E. Rumbaugh, 67, of Cabot, formerly of Butler, passed away Thursday.

He was born Sept. 6, 1944, in Kaylor, Pa., the son of the late Wilbur Parks Rumbaugh and the late Helen (McElhaney) Rumbaugh.

He was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Jack retired from Armco Steel after 37 years of service. He was a school bus driver for W.L. Roenigk Bus Co. He enjoyed going to his grandchildren’s activities and hunting.

Surviving are his wife, Catherine V. (Martin) Rumbaugh, who he married July 12, 1965; two daughters, Cheri (Greg) Haney of Beaver County and Linda (Todd) Golab of Butler; one son, William P. (Amy) Rumbaugh of Butler; eight grandchildren, Jack, Drew, and Bo Haney, Abby and Jordan Rumbaugh, and Jacob, Nickolas and Danielle Golab; three sisters, Virginia Rumbaugh, Lois Rumbaugh and Maxine (William) Smith, all of East Brady; seven brothers, Walt (Emily) Rumbaugh of Harrisville, Lee (Cheryl) Rumbaugh of Cabot, Richard (Rose) Rumbaugh of Chicora, Bernard (Diane) Rumbaugh of Chicora, Robert (Dolly) Rumbaugh of Chicora, Alvin (Tanya) Rumbaugh of Chicora and Dennis (Leann) Rumbaugh of Butler; one sister-in-law, Rachel Rumbaugh of Butler; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Ruthie Rumbaugh; and two brothers, Donald and Harry P. Rumbaugh.

RUMBAUGH — Friends of Jack E. Rumbaugh, who died Thursday, Oct. 6, 2011, will be received at

Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m., and on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 127 Franklin St., Butler, at 10:30 a.m. Monday with the Rev.
