Gillian B. Scanlon
Gillian Blair Cosgrove Scanlon, 22, of West Sunbury died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008, from injuries sustained because of a homicide in Miami, Fla.
Born in Butler April 24, 1985, she was the daughter of Paul and Judy Scanlon.
She attended the Montessori School in Butler and graduated from Butler High School in 2003. Following high school, Gillie attended Slippery Rock University and Warren Wilson College in Asheville, N.C., where she studied religious philosophy.
A joy to be around and a brilliant artist, she loved her family and friends, music, concerts, reading, writing, poetry, art, pets and traveling.
Queen of lost souls, she opened her heart unconditionally to anyone in need, be it a fellow human being or a stray dog. She was a free spirit who loved life and lived it to the fullest. She will be missed dearly by all whose paths crossed hers.
