Robert L. Cookson
Robert Lawrence Cookson 63, of Bowler, Wisc., died Thursday at his home with his family by his side.
Born May 9, 1944, in Grove City, he was the son of Helen V. Sankey Cookson and the late Robert E. Cookson.
Mr. Cookson had lived in Texas, Kansas, Pennsylvania, and New York, but lived most of his life in Wisconsin. He always enjoyed working with his hands, building wonderful things from power plants to doll houses as well as working on automobiles and doing woodcarvings with his Dremel. When he wasn't building things, Bob took great joy in hunting and fishing.
Bob lived his life as a Christian who loved his children and grandchildren wholeheartedly. He also was a kind hearted, unselfish person who saw the good in everyone.
Surviving are three daughters, Angela Marie Waukau of Keshena, Brenda Kay Cookson of Wichita, Kan., and Holly Rae (Christopher) Carlisle of Summerville, S.C.; his former wife and special friend, Lolly Waukau of Zoar; one son, Robert (Diana) Krueger of Cleveland, Ohio; and grandchildren, Erika, Benjamin, Amanda, Malysa, Daniel, Nathaniel, Zachary, Morgan, Marissa and Isabelle.
He is also survived by his mother, Helen Cookson of Harrisburg, Pa.; one brother, Gary (Marilyn) Cookson of White Pigeon, Mich.; and three sisters, Susan (Ron) Fiegel of Friendship, Pamela (Rob) Genovese of Fort Drum, N.Y., and Joyce Ramsey of Toledo, Ohio.
Mr. Cookson was preceded in death by his father, Robert E. Cookson, and four grandsons, Elijah and Brandon, Shaun Lee, and Robert Scott.
<B>COOKSON — </B>A memorial service for Robert Lawrence Cookson, who died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008, was Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Assembly of God Church in Morgan Siding with the Rev. Rodger Cree officiating. A fellowship followed the service at the church.Memorial funds have been established for the Shawano Community Hospice or to the family for medical expenses.
