John Dean Clark Sr.
John Dean Clark Sr., 90, of Butler passed away Tuesday at his home.
He was born March 31, 1926, in East Butler, to the late John F. Clark and Edna M. Wolf Clark.
Mr. Clark was owner and operator of John D. Clark Trucking, retiring in 1995. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the Philippines.
Mr. Clark was a member of American Legion Post 778. He enjoyed camping, woodworking, card playing and dancing. He was a member of East Butler Presbyterian Church and a life member of the East Butler Firemen's Club.
He is survived by four sons, John “Jack” D. Clark Jr and his wife, Diane, of Grove City, Earl “George” W. Clark and his wife, Carolyn, of Butler, Bruce E. Clark and his wife, Cathy, of Butler and Douglas L. Clark and his wife, Beatrice “Toni,” of Butler; one daughter, Sheila A. Hartle and her husband, Dave, of Butler; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Esther Virginia Clark, who she married July 17, 1946, and who died June 8, 2008; three brothers, Charles “Ag” Clark, Richard Clark and Wayne Clark; and one sister, Mary Miller.
CLARK — Friends of John Dean Clark Sr., who died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017, will be received from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Mary J. Kitchen officiating. Burial will take place at North Butler Cemetery of Oakland Township.Military services will be accorded by American Legion Butler Post 117, American Legion Lyndora Post 1778 and Butler VFW Post 249.Memorial donations may be made to East Butler Presbyterian Church, P.O.
