John C. LeFevre, 56, of East Butler died Thursday at Butler Memorial Hospital after a valiant fight with cancer.

He was born March 28, 1949 in Butler, the son of the late Frank C. "Skip" and Garnet Haben LeFevre.

He graduated from Butler High School in 1967. He had worked for the city of Butler, as the assistant city engineer, for 20 years until his retirement in 1992. Mr. LeFevre had recently worked for the Kelly Chevrolet-Cadillac dealership.

He enjoyed playing golf with his son, David, and was a former T-ball and Little League coach and a manager in the Butler Area Baseball Association.

Mr. LeFevre was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler.

He was the much loved and proud father of David R. LeFevre of Pittsburgh.

Other survivors include his former wife, Terri Richardson LeFevre of Butler; a brother, Paul "Skip" LeFevre of Butler; three sisters, Charlene R. Phillips of Butler, Mrs. James (Jayne) Vodenichar of Sandy Lake and Sally L. Schnitzer of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a stepbrother, William Hulton, Jr. of Butler; an aunt, Mary D. Loveless of Laurel, Md.; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins, including Keith Loveless of Maryland.

LEFEVRE - Friends of John C. LeFevre, who died Thursday, April 21, 2005, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday at the GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St. Interment will be in St. Peter Cemetery.St. Pauls Guild and Christian Mothers will meet at 9:40 a.m. Monday at the church to recite the Rosary.Memorial donations may be made to St. Paul Church Capital Improvement Fund, 128 N.
