Brandon Kowalski put together a big game offensively Thursday night as Saxonburg opened its Butler County Area Baseball League tourney play with a 10-4 win over East Butler at LauraDoerr Park.

Kowalski produced a home run, two doubles, a single, RBI and three runs scored for the league’s three-time defending champion. Josh Campbell had a triple, single and two RBI, Mike McCarty two singles, two RBI and two runs scored.

Isaiah Lucas had a double and RBI for East Butler while Austin Rogers had a two singles and an RBI, Cody Schnur a single and RBI.

Saxonburg hosts Center Township at 6 p.m. Saturday at Laura Doerr in a second-round game.

Other Saturday games feature Meridian at Cranberry Township at 6:15 p.m., East Butler at Kiski at 6 p.m. and Karns City at West Sunbury.

In regular season action:

Alex Hoehn and Tyler Parisi homered to lead Center Township to a 10-9 win over West Sunbury recently.

Parisi doubled as well and Trent Vandevort had two singles.

Andy Dulya doubled and singled and Lake Pry had three singles for West Sunbury.
