Gerald G. Marzik

Gerald G. “Jerry” Marzik, 58, of Main Street, Emlenton, passed away Saturday afternoon with his loving wife and children at his side at UPMC Passavant in Pittsburgh following a courageous battle with cancer.

Jerry was born on Aug. 20, 1956, in Hazelton. He was the son of Paul J. and Helen R. Wenner Marzik.

Jerry attended public school in Hazelton. Jerry enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as golfing and “tinkering around.” He especially enjoyed visiting with close friends and family. He was a talented cook and enjoyed cooking for various community benefits.

Jerry was a skilled diesel mechanic and worked for many years as a diesel mechanic and truck driver. He was later employed by Kings HVAC and the Emlenton Water Co.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie J. Bullman Marzik, who he married on Aug. 19, 1995, in Butler; three children, Rebecca J. Malone and her husband, Kevin, of Polk, Tasha L. Seeker and her husband, William, and Gerald R. “JR” Marzik and his wife, Shannon, all of Kennerdell; and six grandchildren, Jenza, Justice, Izaya, Gage, Alexis and Kadence. Jerry was looking forward to the birth of his seventh grandchild, Ashlynn.

He is also survived by one brother, Michael Marzik of Farmington, N.Y.; two sisters, Joan Marzik and her companion, Jim Hartung, of Whitehaven and Kathy Marzik Dunkle and her husband, Ed, of Pleasantville; and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and friends.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by one brother, Paul J. Marzik; three sisters, Beverly Marzik Caito, Paulette Marzik and Mary Ellen Marzik; and triplet infant brothers.

MARZIK — Friends of Gerald G. “Jerry” Marzik, who passed away Saturday, July 4, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Hile Funeral Home, 1204 Kerr Ave., Emlenton.Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev.
