Twp. flood victims can call to file report, get assistance

BUTLER TWP — Township officials said Tuesday that residents who need help with flood-related damage or cleanup should call 211 and file a report. Information collected through the service will be compiled and forwarded to the township.

The township is providing dumpsters for flood-related debris. The dumpsters will be located at the Fire District 3 station at 114 Whitestown Road, beside the Lyndora post office, and will be emptied as-needed.

Residents who are unable to get debris to the dumpsters can call 211 to make arrangements to have it picked up for disposal.

Township officials said they are also planning for disposal of hazardous waste and household appliances that were damaged or ruined in the flood. That collection will take place later, and those items should not be disposed of in the dumpsters.

Additional information, as it becomes available, can be found on the township’s website — www.butlertwp.org — and Facebook page.
