Jean A. Harbison, 83, of Saxonburg passed away peacefully Monday at her home surrounded by her family.

Born Sept. 1, 1928, in Butler, she was the daughter of Samuel Mahan and Myrtle Williams Mahan.

Jean was a member of the Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church, where she was a past deacon.

She recently was inducted into the Butler County Voters Hall of Fame for 50 years of perfect voter attendance.

Jean had been a member of the Saxonburg Women's Club for 50 years.

She was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Ronald W. Harbison, who she married Sept. 20, 1955; two daughters, Carrie Harbison of Saxonburg and Suzanne (Rick) Warheit of Butler; a son, Lance Harbison of Gibsonia; and four grandchildren, Brian Hutchison, Erin Hutchison, Lulan Harbison and Sara Harbison. She also is survived by her son-in-law, John (Mary Jo) Hutchison; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Leslie Hutchison, and a sister, Gladys “Toppy” McGowan.

<B>HARBISON </B>— Friends of Jean A. Harbison, who died Monday, Sept. 19, 2011, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at <B>Fox Funeral Home</B>, Saxonburg. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. David Brewer officiating.
