Donald W. "Bill" Hite

Donald W. “Bill” Hite, 80, of West Park Road, Portersville, passed away at his home Sunday surrounded by his family.

Born on April 26, 1935, in Corrigansville, Md., Bill was the son of the late Donald J. and Francis Gaery Hite. He married the former Mary Louise Daniels on March 3, 1956.

Bill was a very active member and elder at the North Hills Church of Christ.

Bill retired as a district manager in 1997 from Ames, formerly Murphy's Mart.

After he retired, Bill enjoyed spending time at his son Gary's bicycle shop, Hite's Bike Shop in Butler. Bill also enjoyed traveling with his wife, Mary Louise, working on his cars and, most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He was a very giving man and will always be remembered for his generous spirit.

In addition to his wife, Mary Louise Hite, Bill is survived by his children and their spouses, M. Marie and Steve Corzine of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Donald W. and Karen Hite Jr. of Nashville, Tenn., Gary P. and Sherrie Hite of Porterville, Melissa L. and Robert Caughey of Portersville; his sister and brother-in-law, Donna F. and Dennis Blank of Corrigansville, Md.; and a brother, Gary A. Hite of Corrigansville, Md.; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Ruth Hite.
