Robert C. Rehm Jr., 61, died peacefully at sunrise on Nov. 5, 2012, in Saint Joseph Medical Center of Stockton, Calif., after a long struggle with pulmonary fibrosis. He was lovingly surrounded in light and grace by his three children and caregiver, Jane Stone, during his final days.

Born in Butler, he was a 1968 graduate of Butler High School and attended Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. Following military service in the U.S. Marine Corps, Bob turned his love of technology into a career in computer programming and design and was a senior IT business manager for AT&T.

Bob traveled nationally and internationally as a speaker and participant in Eckankar seminars and gatherings. He volunteered at St. Joseph's “No One Dies Alone” program in Stockton, Calif., for many years. Bob sought opportunities to serve and be an extension of God's love. He was a loving and generous man giving freely to others. With an open heart, he brought comfort to those in need of help or guidance; his voice served as a balm that brought peace and serenity to those around him.

Bob was preceded in death by his father, Robert Clarence Rehm Sr. in 1987 and his brother-in-law, Agustin Della Porta in 2002.

He is survived by his mother, Mary S. (Czyzyk) Rehm of Butler; his wife, Coleen Rehm of Stockton, Calif.; his three children, Heather M. Rehm and her partner, Jacob Rhodes, and their daughter, Heaven, of Ventura, Calif., Angela (Andrew) Mason of Chandler, Ariz., and Chad (Kimberly) Granger with their daughter, Kate, of Sacramento, Calif. Also surviving are five sisters and six brothers, Mary Ann Rehm of Pittsburgh, Barbara Rehm Della Porta of Washington, D.C., Susannah Rehm (Andrew Gress) of Sedona, Ariz., Dr. Theresa (Thomas) Thewes of Edinboro; and Joan M. (Roy) Schnur of Camp Hill, Pa., Thomas (Anne) Rehm of Butler, James (Rita) Rehm of Butler, John Paul Rehm of Butler, William J. (Karen Rossie) Rehm of Waterboro, N.C., and Michael Rehm and David Rehm, both of Butler. Mr. Rehm also is survived by six nieces; four nephews; two grandnieces; and his beloved friends, Betty McCallum and Randhi Singh.

REHM — A memorial service for Robert C. Rehm Jr., who died Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, will be at 11 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, at Redwood City Eckankar Center in Redwood City, Calif.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Joseph Medical Center, Foundation Program “No One Dies Alone,” 1800 N. California St., Stockton, CA 95204.
