Clair Lee Greenway Sr.

Clair Lee Greenway Sr., 67, of 1150 Prospect Road, Evans City, died Wednesday at his home after a long illness.

Born in Butler, April 26, 1938, he was the son of the late Kenneth Bernard Best Greenway and the late Gilda Pearl McDeavitt.

He was a Methodist.

Mr. Greenway retired from Sprint Telephone after more than 35 years as a lineman. He was an avid fisherman and hunter

Surviving are three sons, Clair Lee Greenway Jr. of Slippery Rock, Doug Greenway and his wife, Stacy, of Harrisville and Mark Greenway and his wife, Fae, of Cabot; four daughters, Susan Greenway of Saxonburg, Denise Bowser and Rachel Giffin and her husband, Russell, both of Slippery Rock and Lisa Meier and her husband, Daniel, of Harrisville; a brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Peg Greenway of Slippery Rock; a stepdaughter, Rosie Hilliard of Linesville; and a stepson, Donnie Anderson of Clarion County.

Also surviving are 20 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two nephews and three nieces.

He was preceded in death by a brother, John, and a sister, Jeanette.

GREENWAY — Friends of Clair Lee Greenway Sr., who died Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2005, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. James Lewis, pastor of the West Liberty United Methodist Church, officiating.
