The U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Pennsylvania Scott Brady and state Attorney General Josh Shapiro announced Thursday the formation of a joint COVID-19 Fraud Task Force.

The task force is focused on investigating and prosecuting coronavirus-related fraud being perpetrated on-line and in-person by scammers seeking to exploit the evolving coronavirus public health crisis.

Some examples of COVID-19 scams provided by the Department of Justice include: treatment, supply, provider, charity, phishing, App, investment scams and price gouging.
