Vehicle crash or accidentfor web use; big enough for print

One person was transported to Butler Memorial Hospital after a vehicle hit a bicycle Tuesday morning along Route 8 in Butler Township.

Patrick Frank, 58, of Butler was riding an electronic bicycle southbound on Route 8, near Butler Endodontics, when he was rear-ended by Luke Deangelis, 32, of Boyers, shortly before 5:30 a.m., Butler Township Police said.

Deangelis was driving a truck, according to the news release.

The crash remains under investigation. Butler Township Police, Butler Ambulance and Butler Fire responded to the scene.
