Butler Twp

May 31 — Sean P. Pell, 42, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor counts of drug possession and drug paraphernalia possession after police said they found suspected heroin and related paraphernalia during an arrest for a different matter.

5:54 a.m. May 31 — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on New Castle Road. Police said Earnest Hall, 71, of Butler, tried to make a left turn and pulled in front of a vehicle driven by Jacob Steele, 21, of Butler, forcing Steele to evade and hit a guardrail. Police said no one was injured.

State Police

May 31 — Randal Andrasy, 37, of Saxonburg, was charged with misdemeanor counts of DUI and child endangerment after police said he drove an ATV with his young son as a passenger while drunk May 14 on West Water Street, Saxonburg. Police said field sobriety tests showed Andrasy was impaired, and a later blood test showed his blood-alcohol content at .204%. In Pennsylvania, the legal limit is .08%.

May 31 — Brandon A. Williams, 26, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor counts of theft from a vehicle, possessing stolen property and unauthorized device access after police said he took a wallet from a resident’s vehicle in East Butler. Police said Williams then used one of the credit cards at Walmart in Butler Township.

May 31 — Charles Young, 45, of Cheswick, was charged with misdemeanor counts of DUI and drug paraphernalia possession after police said they investigated a Sept. 19 crash on Interstate 79, Jackson Township. Police said Young’s vehicle was wedged against the median. Police said field sobriety tests showed he was impaired, and a later blood test showed cocaine in his system.

May 31 — Frederick Orr, 32, of Columbus, Ohio, was charged with felony drug sales and misdemeanor counts of drug possession and drug paraphernalia possession after police said they stopped him May 30 on Route 422, Prospect, for an expired registration. Police said they later found multiple packages of crack cocaine, prescription pills and associated paraphernalia.

May 29 — Julie R. Hobbs, 35, of Sarver, was charged with felony child endangerment and misdemeanor simple assault after police said they responded to a domestic dispute in Clinton Township. Hobbs’ husband told officers she hit him in the face while the couple was driving on the turnpike. Police said children were in the vehicle at the time.

May 29 — William J. Warren Jr., 23, of McKees Rocks, was charged with felony counts of carrying a loaded gun and drug sales as well as misdemeanor counts of drug possession and drug paraphernalia possession after police said they stopped him May 29 for speeding on Interstate 79 in Jackson Township. Police said they later found a backpack in Warren’s vehicle containing marijuana and a loaded gun.

May 27 — Zachary E. Smith, 30, of Butler, was charged with felony drug sales and misdemeanor drug paraphernalia possession after police said they stopped him March 18 for crossing lines on Evans City Road, Forward Township. Police said officers later found 54.7 grams of marijuana and associated paraphernalia.

May 27 — Wade H. Calhoun, 43, of Kittanning, was charged with one felony count of false statement during a gun purchase and one misdemeanor count of making a false statement after police said he tried to buy a gun Nov 13, 2020, at Fenelton Firearms, Clearfield Township. Police said Calhoun inaccurately filled out the paperwork.

May 27 — Cody T. Tritch, 26, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor counts of DUI, marijuana possession and drug paraphernalia possession after police said they stopped him May 18 for an unlit license plate on South Benbrook Road in Center Township. Police said field sobriety tests showed Tritch was impaired, and a later blood test showed marijuana in his system. Police said they later found 14 grams of marijuana and associated paraphernalia in the vehicle.
