Elizabeth Honse
Elizabeth Greer Honse, 74, of Woolwine, Va., died Dec. 13 at Autumn Home Care in Selma, N.C.
Mrs. Honse was born in Butler, Dec. 16, 1935, to the late Samuel and Winifred Fletcher Greer.
She was employed with Craven Cherry Point Child Development Center for many years and devoted much of her life to working with the mentally disabled.
She is survived by two sons, James “Chip” Honse Jr. and his wife, Evelyn, of Kenly, N.C., and Chris Honse and his wife, Sally, of Glide, Ore.; a brother, Gordon Greer and his wife, Nancy, of Boston; a sister, Kay Hall and her husband, Dudley, of Charlotte, N.C.; five grandchildren, Walker Honse, Stacey Webb, Sam Honse, Doug Honse and Dana Honse; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. James Honse Sr., U.S. Marine Corps; and a grandson, James “Trey” Honse III.
<B>HONSE</B> — A graveside committal service for Elizabeth Greer Honse, who died Monday, Dec. 13, 2010, will be at the J.R. Wood Cemetery on Woods Gap Road in Woolwine, Va., at 1 p.m. Jan. 16, 2011.
