Norman J. Gordon Sr.
Norman John Gordon Sr., 74, died July 1 at his home in Holly Hill, Fla.
Born Sept. 26, 1930, in Butler, he was the son of George and Nellie Anthony Gordon.
In 1948, he graduated from Butler High School, where he had played football.
He lived in Butler all his life until retiring and moving to Florida in 1994.
Mr. Gordon attended the Faith Lutheran Church in Ormond Beach, Fla., where he was active in the senior group ECHO and was a former member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Butler.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a life member of the Oneida Valley Volunteer Fire Company and a member of the Butler County Baseball reunion group that meets each year in Butler.
Surviving are his wife, Aline Joyce Dufford Gordon, whom he married June 9, 1951; a son, Norman John Gordon Jr. of Butler; a daughter Mrs. Charles (Lynn) Kamerer of Florida; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A sister, Ruth Stivason, also survives.
Two sisters preceded him in death.
GORDON - A memorial service for Norman John Gordon Sr., who died Friday, July 1, 2005, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive.
