Seven Fields Community Days Carnival brings joy on first day
Neighbors and visitors gathered for a fun evening at the first day of the Seven Fields Community Days Carnival on Thursday.
The festival, which runs through Saturday, brings rides, food and live music to the Seven Fields Town Park.
Families and young kids explored the carnival rides, inflatable bounce house and souvenir stands in the cool evening air.
Linda Polakovsky of C&L Shows said that the turnout Thursday looked promising.
“Actually, it seems busier than the last time we were here,” she said.
Ava Ballanca, 3, had fun riding a spinning ride. Her mother, Arijana Ballanca of Mars, said she and her family came to the fair last year.
“We went to this one, and we went to the Cranberry one, which is so huge,” she said. “It’s so cute — for kids who are about 3 to 7, it’s a good fit.”
It was a first-time visit for Lennon McCarren, 3, who tried her hand at a carnival game and won an inflatable dolphin.
Lennon’s aunt, Millie McCarren, who lives in Seven Fields, took her to the event.
“I think it’s just really nice that they offer this to the community. It’s really great. We were able to just walk down from our house,” McCarren said.
Sara Bridgeman of Seven Fields was grateful for the mild weather.
“It’s just a fun community time to come around and spend some time outside,” said Bridgeman, who brought her six-week-old daughter, Sophie, to the fair. “We’ll come back Saturday and do more stuff.”
Tickets at the event are $20 for a ride-all-day pass or $3 per ride. The event begins at 6 p.m. Friday and 5 p.m. Saturday and is located at Seven Fields Town Park at 380 Castle Creek Drive. The carnival will conclude with a fireworks show Saturday.
