Heavy rain floods some basements in county
BUTLER TWP — Three days of rainfall caused some homes' basements to be flooded by Sunday.
Township fire departments, including the Meridian Volunteer Fire Company, which pumped six basements, responded to fewer than 10 flooding calls to the 911 emergency center.
According to the Butler County Airport Authority, the rainfall over the weekend was 0.51 inches Friday, 0.74 inches Saturday and 0.57 inches Sunday.
County Emergency Services reported a few other basement flooding calls scattered across other municipalities.
