James A. Green Sr.
James A. Green Sr., 73, of Butler passed away Sunday at VNA Inpatient Hospice.
He was born Nov. 2, 1942, in Butler to the late James Alexander Green and the late Ethel Frances Bowser.
James joined the U.S. Navy in 1960 and retired as a master chief petty officer in 1979. He worked for F.B. Leopold in Zelienople as a plant manager from 1979 to 2007.
James was an avid Steelers and a NASCAR fan. He enjoyed car cruises and working on classic cars and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa Joan (Poprovsky) Green, who he married Feb. 16, 1963; one daughter, Tracy Heming and her husband, Charles, of Nanty Glo, Pa.; two sons, James Green Jr. and his wife, Amy, of Butler and Robert Green and his wife, Ashley, of Butler; four grandchildren, Brittany Rakarich, Haley Green, Logan Green and Zoe Green; four sisters, Margie Vangorder and her husband, Jack, of Butler, Merna Patton and her husband, John, of Butler, Joyce Shaw and her husband, David, of Sterling Heights, Mich., and Carol Ann Bowen and her husband, Ron, of Hay Market, Va.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Norma Jean Huber.

Green Sr., who died Sunday, May 8, 2016, there will be no public visitation.Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., with the Rev. Dr. Dennis L.
