The Butler County salary board on Wednesday might restore three full-time deputy sheriff posts set to be cut through attrition.

Sheriff Mike Slupe this morning requested the board not eliminate the posts, one of which would be cut at the end of the month when a retirement is expected.

Slupe said the posts are needed to maintain security in the courthouse and government center, service outstanding warrants and perform other duties.
