Employee of the Year awarded to BHS employee
The 25th annual Butler County Chamber of Commerce Employee Appreciation luncheon attracted a crowd of 137 people Wednesday at The Atrium in Prospect.
Mindy Dunkerley, a Butler Health System employee, took home this year’s Employee of the Year award. Dunkerley, director of regulatory, experience and nursing quality, was uncharacteristically at a loss for words upon hearing the news.
“So typically I’m a little bit more prepared,” Dunkerley said, addressing the room. “I’ll talk a mile a minute to try and get from A-to-Z. I have the privilege to get to go to work every day and help support these folks that take care of patients. I’m a small component of what they do every day. So this is truly an honor. Thank you all.”
The luncheon is intended to let local businesspeople take employees out for a nice meal to show their appreciation. As Stan Kosciszko, chamber president, put it, people attend to have fun.
