Osche

Arthur M. Osche, 91, of Herman died Sunday evening at his home.

Born Nov. 26, 1917, in Herman, he was a son of the late Sylvester and Emma (Baldauf) Osche.

He was a retired mason and bricklayer, having worked for James Miller Masonry Contractor in Cabot.

He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman; the Knights of Columbus 866 in Butler, where he was a volunteer at their fish fries for many years; the R.C. Men's Club in Herman; the Tanglewood Senior Center in Butler; and was a life and founding member of the Herman Volunteer Fire Department.

Surviving are his wife, Rita S. (Geibel) Osche, whom he married Aug. 17, 1939; a son, Larry Osche and his wife, Helen, of Herman; three daughters, Mrs. Dale (Janet) Wells, Mrs. Bernard "Bud" (Elaine "Jimmy") Neff and Mrs. John (Marlene) Price, all of Herman; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; a brother, Elmer Osche of Herman; and three sisters, Jane Rhodaberger and Mrs. Albert (Jean) Kovach, both of Herman, and Ada Skalley of Butler.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

<B>Osche</B> — There will be no public visitation. A Mass of Christian burial for Arthur M. Osche, who died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009, will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman. The Rev. Gary Stakem, O.F.M. Cap., will officiate.
