Amelia Ann "Minnie" (Butler) Vogel, 78, of West Sunbury, formerly of Butler, died at 2:14 p.m. Sunday at Allegheny General Hospital.

Born in Butler, Sept. 21, 1931, she was the daughter of Ann Douglas Munro Butler and Edgar Houserman Butler.

She was married Dec. 12, 1953, to Arthur Joseph Vogel who passed away Feb. 21, 2003.

Amelia, a registered nurse, was a 1952 graduate of the Butler County Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She worked at Butler Memorial Hospital until retirement in 1991. She was a member of the Butler County Memorial Hospital Nurses Alumni Association.

She was very active in children's organizations and enjoyed sewing and camping.

She is survived by two sons, Arthur William "Bill" Vogel of Butler and Timothy Joseph "Tim" Vogel and his wife, Patricia Kradel Vogel, of West Sunbury; a granddaughter, April Ann Vogel of West Sunbury; a sister, Mary Josephine "Jody" Johnston of Butler; a brother, Grant M. Butler of Plantation, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.

Two sisters, Loveina M. Butler and Catherine Sampson; a brother, Eddie H. Butler; and a daughter-in-law, Pamela George Vogel, preceded her in death.

<B>VOGEL</B> — Friends of Amelia Ann "Minnie" (Butler) Vogel, who died Sunday, June 13, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St., Butler. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Ginger Ditulio officiating.
