Jane Louise Chantler

Jane Louise Chantler, 83, of 107 Summit Road in Center Township died at 6:45 p.m. Friday at Sunnyview Nursing Home.

Born Sept. 11, 1921, she was the daughter of Ralph McCulley Chantler Sr. and Hilda Murray Chantler.

She was an alumna of Peabody High School in Pittsburgh and graduated with honors from the Pennsylvania College for Women, now Chatham College, with a liberal arts degree in English and psychology. She was a member of the National Honor Society.

Miss Chantler was a retired travel agent and had been a volunteer for the Butler Memorial Hospital Junior Hospital Auxiliary.

She was a member of Saint Andrew United Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Butler County Friends of the Library.

Surviving are a brother, Ralph M. Chanter and his wife, Barbara, of Ormond Beach, Fla.; and a niece, Janet Chantler Martin and her husband, John, of Ormond Beach.

CHANTLER - Friends of Jane Louise Chantler, who died Friday, March 4, 2005, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St. Services will follow at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Kate Filer, interim pastor of her church, officiating. Burial will be at North Side Cemetery.Memorial donations may be made to the Butler County Humane Society, 1027 Evans City Road, Renfrew, PA 16053.Information also is available at www.thompson-miller.com.
