Erika Schuelke, 87, of Saxonburg, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2022, at Seasons of Saxonburg.

She was born June 11, 1935, in Germany, and was the daughter of the late Johann and Frieda (Karle) Friedrich.

Erika was a member of St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she was a very active member.

She worked for many years at St. John Specialty Care Center.

She enjoyed literature, traveling, gardening and knitting.

Surviving are her son, Eric H. (Kim) Schuelke of Butler; three grandchildren, Ian (Christine) Schuelke of Shelan, Wash., Aaron Schuelke of Butler, and Evan (fiancée Courtney) Schuelke of Saxonburg; six great-grandchildren; and her sister, Hanna, of Germany.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hermann Albert Schuelke, who passed away on May 29, 1995; and her sister, Marga Frank.

SCHUELKE — A graveside service for Erika Schuelke, who died Thursday, June 23, 2022, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Brownsdale Cemetery, 352-398 Brownsdale Road, Butler, with the Rev. Mike Galica officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, Butler.
