Mary Studeny

Studeny

Mary Katherine Locher Studeny, 84, of Renfrew, passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2022, while under the care of UPMC Shadyside Hospital.

Born Dec. 29, 1937, in Bellevue, she was the daughter of the late Edward H. Locher and the late Mary Friel Locher.

Mary was a 1955 graduate of Holy Ghost High School in Westview. She was a member of the All Saints Parish-St. Conrad Roman Catholic Church of Meridian. Mary was very active in the parish over the years, including her service as the secretary for the office. She held many offices at church, including Christian Mothers and bookkeeper for the Men’s Club, and she was a frequent volunteer at the fish fries.

Mary retired from Ralph E. Lane Accounting in Zelienople in 2012.

She enjoyed word searches and taking care of birds when they visited her backyard. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

Mary is survived by her two sons, Joseph E. Studeny (Kelly), and Paul Studeny and his wife, Cathy, both of Renfrew; her granddaughter, Katie O’Leary (Aaron) of Butler; her sisters, Sarah Locher and Peggy (Fred) Lester; her brother, Stephen (Stef) Locher; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph G. “Jerry,” who died Oct. 11, 2017; her daughter-in-law, Christine Studeny; her grandson, Joseph B. Studeny; her two brothers, Patrick Locher and Edward J. Locher; and her sister, Harriet Vater.

STUDENY — Friends of Mary Katherine Locher Studeny, who died Thursday, June 30, 2022, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER OF CONNOQUENESSING TOWNSHIP, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew. Masks are required if you plan to attend.

Mary will be laid to rest with her husband at the Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum at Butler County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Butler County Humane Society, 1015 Evans City Road, Renfrew, PA 16053.
