Butler City police respond to more than 200 incidents over weekend
Butler City police responded to more than 200 incidents over the Independence Day weekend, and some remain under investigation.
“The Butler City Police Department had a busy weekend from Friday until Monday night,” Police Chief Robert O’Neill reported Tuesday.
Officers handled in excess of 200 incidents, including nine arrests, 26 traffic stops and and five minor crashes, O’Neill said.
The arrests ranged from drunken disorderly incidents to a large drug bust and a few investigations are ongoing, he said.
The traffic stops resulted in officers issuing about 12 citations, and several traffic investigations are ongoing, he said.
None of the crashes resulted in serious injury, he said.
“There were several events (including the fireworks) that went off well. There were no long delays on call response,“ O’Neill said.
He reminded everybody to call 911 to report ongoing crimes.
