James P. Snyder

James P. “Jim” Snyder, 54, of West Sunbury, passed away unexpectedly June 29, 2021, at work from a heart seizure.

Jim was born on May 8, 1967, in Grove City, and was the son of the late Vance “Tim” Snyder and the late Lorraine (Pry) Snyder.

Jim was a member of St. Faustina Parish.

He worked for his brother at Snyder Excavating for 17 years, and also owned and operated JS Enterprises and Sports Gallery, where he sold sports memorabilia.

He was an avid sports fan, and supported all Pittsburgh sports.

Jim was a brother, uncle, godfather, confidant and friend, who you could always count on. He will be deeply missed.

Jim is survived by two sisters, Theresa M. (Mark) McCaslin of West Sunbury, and Eileen M. (Steve) Barry of Butler; one brother, George R. (Vanessa) Snyder of Butler; nine nieces and nephews; six great-nieces and great-nephews and one on the way; numerous godchildren; and numerous aunts and uncles.

SNYDER — Family and friends of James P. “Jim” Snyder, who died Tuesday, June 29, 2021, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Louis Church of St. Faustina Parish in West Sunbury, with the Rev. Charles Baptiste and the Rev. Adam Verona officiating.

Burial in West Sunbury Union Cemetery will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Faustina Parish Religious Education Fund, 342 Normal Avenue, Slippery Rock, PA 16057.
