Opal Dee Everett
Opal Dee Everett, 79, of 132 Edwards Estates, Worthington, died Saturday at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Born Feb. 4, 1930, in Rimersburg, she was the daughter of Donald Crissman and Catherine Flick Crissman.
She was a 1948 graduate of Kittanning High School, where she was an active member of the planning committee.
She retired from the Owens Illinois glass plant in Clarion and currently was a personal caretaker for Mrs. Lillian Toy of Worthington.
She was a Methodist. She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge of Rimersburg.
Mrs. Everett enjoyed crocheting baby blankets for her children and grandchildren and loved to spend time with her family
Surviving are four sons, Robert A. Everett (Babs) of Widnoon, Larry P. Everett (Carol) of Widnoon, Frank H. Everett II (Cindy) of Rimersburg and W. Kelly Everett (Pam) of Widnoon.; three daughters, Lori D. Matthews (Paul) of Kittanning, Susan Duncan (Rex) of Kittanning and Donna Riemer (Timothy) of Cabot; 14 grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Charles "Sonny" Crissman of Buffalo, N.Y.; a stepbrother, Donald Smith (Janet) of New Bethlehem; and two close friends, Erma Heilman of Worthington and Dorinda "Red" Swineford of Summerville.
Her husband of 51 years, Paul A. Everett, died Jan. 30, 2002. She also was preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother, Mildred (Smith) Crissman; a half-sister, Delphine Crissman; and an infant Daughter, Kathleen W. Everett.
EVERETT -- Friends of Opal Dee Everett, who died Saturday, March 14, 2009, may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the KENNEDY & BLODGETT FUNERAL HOME, 253 N. Grant Ave., Kittanning, where the funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Howard A. Greenfield, of the Zion United Methodist Church of Sarver, will officiate. Burial will be in the Tidal Cemetery, Armstrong County.
