Herbenick

Phyllis P. Herbenick of Valencia Woods at St. Barnabas, Valencia, formerly of Butler, passed away Saturday.

She was born in Butler, April 10, 1924, a daughter of the late James and Mary Dixon Miller.

Phyllis was an executive receptionist at Spang & Co.

Following her retirement, she enjoyed a variety of activities, especially those that involved helping others. She loved cooking and was an excellent baker.

She was the widow of William H. 'Bill' Herbenick, who died Nov. 16, 1982. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Marianne Matthews; three brothers; and five sisters.

Surviving are a son, Dennis W. Herbenick; a daughter, Carol Sklar and her husband, Gregg; three grandchildren, Ashley, Christopher and Jonathan Sklar; a son-in-law, Tom Matthews; and a number of nieces and nephews.

<B>HERBENICK </B>— Friends of Phyllis P. Herbenick, who died Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009, will be received from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Richard Morledge, a retired Presbyterian minister, will officiate.
