Fehl

Harold Wilbur Fehl, 79, of Butler died Friday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born April 21, 1930, in Ellwood City, he was the son of Jesse Albert Fehl Sr. and Ida Anna (Kugel) Fehl.

Harold was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He served as an assistant chaplain at bases including Ft. Lawton, Okla., and Seoul, South Korea, during the end of the Korean War.

He was a member of the American Legion 778.

He graduated from Lincoln High School, attended Kentucky Christian College and graduated from Geneva College. He taught elementary school in New Castle, Cranberry and Evans City.

He served as a minister in the Enon Valley Christian Church and the Sandy Lake Christian Church.

Harold loved traveling and spending time with his family and friends. He shared his ideas, told jokes and witnessed to everyone he met. He enjoyed camping, fishing, attending bluegrass festivals and church activities.

Surviving are his wife, Donna Mae (Giebel) Fehl, who he married June 17, 2007; sons, Harold Frank Fehl (Debbie) and Eric Victor Eldritch; a granddaughter, Rachel Ann Fehl Putnam (Adam); a brother, Jesse Albert Fehl Jr. (Midge); and a sister, Doris (Fehl) Vaneman.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and siblings, Andrew Fehl, Margaret Wyreck and Thelma Linville.

<B>FEHL</B> — Friends of Harold Wilbur Fehl, who died Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, will be received from noon to 3 p.m. Monday at the <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, 127 W. Jefferson St. Services will follow the visitation at 4 p.m. Monday at the New Beginnings Free Methodist Church, 416 Center Ave, Butler.Interment will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Zelienople Community Mausoleum, Oliver Avenue, Zelienople, 16063. Military honors will be presented by the American Legion Post 778 and VFW 249.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Steward Account for the Needy of the New Beginnings Free Methodist Church.
