Water line break closes Cunningham Street
About 20 Butler residents are without water and part of Cunningham Street is closed this morning due to a water main break.
A 12-inch, cast iron water main broke early this morning at the intersection of Cunningham and Chestnut streets, said Gary Lobaugh, Pennsylvania American Water spokesman. He said that the main is about 100 years old and at the end of its useful life.
Cunningham is closed between Chestnut and Pillow streets.
Lobaugh expected the water to be restored to residents and the street to be reopened by late this afternoon.
