David Reed Morgan of Butler, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on July 13, 2022, at the age of 67 after a courageous 26-month battle with glioblastoma brain cancer.

Dave was born on April 6, 1955, in Butler. He was the son of late Daniel Morgan and Doris (Vensel) Morgan.

Dave was a 1973 graduate of Butler High School.

He retired in 2019 after 45 years of employment from Columbia Broadcasting System.

He had a passion for riding Harley Davidson motorcycles and exploring new places with his wife. He enjoyed going on vacations to the beach with his family, and will be remembered for always making everyone smile and laugh when they were around him.

Dave is survived by his loving wife, Irene, whom he adored.

He is lovingly remembered by his stepchildren, whom he thought of as his own, April (Dan) Bittner of Chesapeake, Va., and James Cottrill Jr. of West Sunbury; his two grandchildren, Jackson and Mallory, who gave him the proud title of “PeePaw”; and two furry grandchildren, Rigsby and Lemieux.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Robert Morgan; his daughter-in-law, Trista Cottrill; and his two granddogs, Lily and Lucy.

MORGAN — Family and friends of David Reed Morgan, who died Wednesday, July 13, 2022, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at WILLIAM F. YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at West Sunbury Union Cemetery.
