Francis H. Davison
Francis H. “Fran” Davison, 60, of Harmony, Lancaster Township, died Sunday of MDS and AML, (myelodysplastic syndromes and acute myeloid leukemia). He spent a total of 26 weeks this past year being cared for by the wonderful doctors and staff of UPMC Shadyside Hospital, who dubbed him “Mr. Sunshine.”
Born March 8, 1951, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Floyd and Rose Brown Davison.
Mr. Davison was a member of the St. Gregory Catholic Church, Zelienople.
He was a 1969 graduate of North Allegheny High School. An avid baseball player and enthusiast, he lettered in baseball at North Allegheny High School and Youngstown State University. He played Federation ball for Warrendale and was a former Little League coach for the Zelienople Harmony Athletic Association.
Mr. Davison was a member of IBEW Local 1919.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cathy L. (Harter) Davison, who he married Oct. 6, 1973; a daughter, U.S. Navy Lt. j.g. Angela Wofford, (Jacob, Ens., U.S. Navy) of Sedley, Va; a son, Thomas F. Davison (Joy) of Butler; two brothers, Michael Davison (Maria) of Zelienople and Timothy Davison (Lee Anne) of Baden; two sisters, Audrey Gerginski (Maria Vaccaro) and Ruth Lyons (George), both of Wexford; and his beloved granddaughter, Kendra Wofford. Also surviving are nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Julie; and an infant nephew, Billy.
<B>DAVISON</B> — Friends of Francis H. “Fran” Davison, who died Sunday, April 3, 2011, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at the St. Gregory Catholic Church, 2 W. Beaver St., Zelienople.
