George J. Pajer Sr.

Pajer Sr.

George J. Pajer Sr., 87, of 238 Ekastown Road in Buffalo Township died at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Alleg-heny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, after a brief illness.

Born April 24, 1920, in Springdale, he was the son of John and Mary Laychak Pajer and was a lifelong resident of Buffalo Township.

He retired in 1984 as a rigger in the No. 9 department at Allegheny Ludlum Steel after 35 years. He also worked with his family on the family farm.

He was a World War II Navy veteran.

Mr. Pajer was a member of Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Worship Site, Natrona Heights.

He was a former charter member of Sarver Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, boating and working with his family on their farm.

Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Helen J. Sutara Pajer; five children, George J. (Barbara) Pajer Jr. and Sandra M. (Frank) Drahos, both of Buffalo Township, William E. (Sandi) Pajer of Fawn Township, and Suzanne E. Boehm and Thomas S. (Therese) Pajer, both of Buffalo Township; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He also is survived by a sister, Mary Stovcsik of Allegheny Township.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Melvin J. Boehm, who died in 1995; two brothers, John and Michael Pajer; and a sister, Ann Mraz.

<B>PAJER </B>— Friends of George J. Pajer Sr., who died Tuesday, June 26, 2007, will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. today at <B>Duster Funeral Home</B>, 10th Avenue and Corbet Street, Tarentum. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon Friday at the Most Blessed Sacrament worship site with the Rev. Richard Tusky officiating. Burial will be at Mt.
