Norman F. Voelker Sr.
Norman F. "Pap" Voelker Sr., 76, of Butler died Tuesday at his home.
Born June 30, 1929, in Akron, Ohio, he was a son of Edward and Augusta Chenot Voelker.
He had been a furniture salesman for more than 40 years and had worked for the former Davis Furniture, Furniture Galleries and Troutman's department store in Butler until his retirement in 1994. After retiring, he enjoyed working with his son-in-law at Butler Custom Catering.
Mr. Voelker was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. He was a former member of the French and Belgium Club and the Italian Society.
An avid sports fan, he especially enjoyed attending his children's and grandchildren's sporting events.
Surviving are his wife, Sara C. Campbell Voelker, whom he married April 3, 1948; three sons, Gary L. and David E. Voelker and Norman F. Voelker Jr., all of Butler; and four daughters, Barbara J. Radzyminski, Nancy J. Hitchcock, Mrs. George (Deborah) Schroth and Mrs. Gary (Connie) Malinski, all of Butler.
Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, Michelle, Amy, Michael, Sharon, Joseph and Brittany Voelker; Mark Hitchcock, Shayne and Ashley Hoehn and Shawn Murphy; and two great-grandchildren, Jailynn and Jesalynn Voelker.
VOELKER — Friends of Norman F. Voelker Sr., who died Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2006, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N.
