Joseph D. Mohn Jr.
Joseph D. Mohn, Jr., 78, 906 Chicora Road died Thursday at the Chicora Medical Center.
Born March 31, 1927, in Canton, Ohio, he was the son of Joseph D. Mohn Sr. and Kathryn Waechter Mohn.
He graduated from Robert Morris University with a degree in accounting, and was a self-employed accountant until he retired in 1982.
During World War II, he served in the Army. He was a member of the American Legion Post 117 and was a former member of the Butler Moose Lodge 64.
Mr. Mohn enjoyed hunting, fishing and was also an avid gardener.
Surviving are five sons, Jay D. Mohn and his wife, Denise, of Karns City, Dean R. Mohn and his wife, Alice, of Sarver; Lee A. Mohn and his wife, Pam, of Butler, Michael D. Mohn of Butler and Patrick J. Mohn and his wife, Gina, of Karns City; one daughter, LuAnn Fettig of Lantana, Fla.; 17 grandchildren; one stepson, John B. Kirk of West Sunbury; and two brothers, James O. Mohn of Butler and Albert R. Mohn of Daytona Beach, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances E. Haley Mohn, whom he married Aug. 7, 1968, and who died June 25, 1994; a daughter, Mary Jo Covert, who died May 12, 2001; a sister, Mary Kay Pickett, who died Sept. 9, 1997, and a grandson, Jay D. Mohn Jr., who died Dec. 15, 2001.
MOHN — Friends of Joseph D. Mohn Jr., who died Thursday, Jan. 19, 2006, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N.
