Rebecca 'Becky' Anne Spoonhour

Rebecca “Becky” Anne Spoonhour, 31, of Slippery Rock Township passed away Wednesday at her home as the result of a tragic accident.

Born in Westfield, Chautauqua County, N.Y., Oct. 5, 1979, she was the daughter of Kathy Ann Covert Artico and Robert J. Artico and the late John A. Heppner.

She married Erich William Spoonhour Feb. 5, 2005, who survives at their home.

She graduated from Westfield Central School in 1997 and attended Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington, N.C. She had completed a trimester at the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science.

She was a Lutheran.

She was a dedicated mother, wife and daughter. She was a domestic goddess.

Survivors include her husband, Erich W. Spoonhour; two sons, Aiden William Spoonhour and Ethan William Spoonhour, and a daughter, Abigail Grace Spoonhour, all of their home in Slippery Rock; her parents, Kathy A. and Robert J. Artico of Fredonia, N.Y.; a brother, Matthew T. Heppner of Fredonia, N.Y.; a sister, Wendy A. Wilson (Robert) of Westfield, N.Y.; her maternal grandmother Naomi Covert of Akron, N.Y.; and four aunts.

She was preceded in death by her father, paternal grandparents and maternal grandfather.

<B>SPOONHOUR</B> — Funeral services for Rebecca “Becky” Anne Spoonhour, who died Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011, will be at the <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock, at 11:30 a.m. Monday with Pastor William Novack of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Fredonia, N.Y., presiding. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 10:30 until the time of the service at 11:30 a.m. Monday.Memorial contributions may be made to the family for the benefit of the children's education or to the charity of the donor's choice.
