Grace E. Hummell

Grace E. Crawford Hummell, 80, of Columbus, Ohio, went to be with the Lord Friday at St. Ann's Hospital after a long illness.

She was born Oct. 11, 1925, in Worthington, daughter of the late Bud Painter and Hazel Kruse.

She was the last of her generation, preceded in death by four of her children and one grandchild.

Surviving are her husband of 11 years Roger L. Hummell, her sons, Richard (Debbie) Ely, Thomas Blankenship and Dan (Yunette) Ely, all of Columbus, John (Teri) Ely of Butler; adopted son, Angel of Columbus and a stepson Roger (Kathy) Hummell Jr. of Reynoldsburg; six grandchildren, Deon, Daniel, Michelle, Joshua, Ben and Elisha Ely; and six great-granddaughters.

Grace was an ordained minister, and a member of the David Evangelical Lutheran Church of Canal Winchester.

She was a fashion model for the Lorraine Edgar Modeling Agency of Columbus, Ohio, cofounder and principal of the Sherwood Elite Retirement Village, Court of Grace, which is an Alzheimer's social research facility, The Butler Bazaar and The Premier Center Mini Malls. She was presently a regional director of the Veterans' Outreach, Inc. of Ohio.

<b>HUMMELL</b> — A memorial service for Grace E. Crawford Hummell, who died Friday, Aug. 25, 2006, will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday at <B>Newcomer Funeral Home</B>, 3047 E.
